Hulls Falls Road Description

Getting There: Directions to Hulls Falls Road

From downtown Lake Placid (16.6 miles): Head southeast on Main Street.  Turn RIGHT onto S Main St/Sentinel Road just before the Sunoco Gas Station. Drive 0.6 miles. Continue onto NY-73 E/Cascade Road. Drive 13.6 miles toward Keene.  In Keene, make a slight RIGHT onto NY-73 E/NY-9N South. Drive for 1.9 miles. At the intersection of Route 73 and Route 9N, continue straight.  Drive 0.5 miles to Hulls Falls Road on your RIGHT.  There are unpaved parking strips on both sides of Hulls Falls Road near the intersection with Route 73.  There is also an unpaved parking area on the other side of Route 73 (nearly opposite Hulls Falls Road in the direction of Keene Valley), providing access to a brushy area near the Ausable River which seems to attract a lot of warblers and other song birds.

From Saranac Lake and points northwest: From the outskirts of Saranac Lake, take the Sara-Placid Road (NY-86E) toward Lake Placid. Drive for 4.9 miles. When you see a big green road sign advising you to bear right for Keene, turn RIGHT onto Old Military Road (Essex County Route 35). Drive 3.6 miles. Merge onto NY-73 E. Drive 12.6 miles. In Keene, make a slight RIGHT onto NY-73 E/NY-9N South. Drive for 1.9 miles. At the intersection of Route 73 and Route 9N, continue straight.  Drive 0.5 miles to Hulls Falls Road on your RIGHT.  There are unpaved parking strips on both sides of Hulls Falls Road near the intersection with Route 73.  There is also an unpaved parking area on the other side of Route 73 (nearly opposite Hulls Falls Road in the direction of Keene Valley), providing access to a brushy area near the Ausable River which seems to attract a lot of warblers and other song birds.

From Keene Valley and points south: Head north on NY-73 West toward Keene. Drive 2.5 miles. You will pass a grass airstrip (Marcy Field) on your LEFT.  Hulls Falls Road is the first intersection on your LEFT after Marcy Field.  There are unpaved parking strips on both sides of Hulls Falls Road near the intersection with Route 73.  There is also an unpaved parking area on the RIGHT side of Route 73 (nearly opposite Hulls Falls Road in the direction of Keene Valley), providing access to a brushy area near the Ausable River which seems to attract a lot of warblers and other song birds.
