From downtown Lake Placid: Head southeast on Main Street.  Turn RIGHT onto S Main St/Sentinel Road just before the Sunoco Gas Station. Drive 0.6 miles. Continue onto NY-73 E/Cascade Road. Drive 1.4 miles. Turn LEFT onto River Road, just after crossing over the bridge. Drive one mile on River Road, to the unpaved parking area on your LEFT, just before the intersection with Intervale Way.

From Saranac Lake and points northwest: From Saranac Lake and points northwest: From the outskirts of Saranac Lake, take the Sara-Placid Road (NY-86E) toward Lake Placid. Drive for 4.9 miles. When you see a big green road sign advising you to bear right for Keene, turn RIGHT onto Old Military Road (Essex County Route 35). Drive 3.6 miles. Merge onto NY-73 E. Drive 0.5 miles. Turn LEFT onto River Road, just after crossing over the bridge. Drive one mile on River Road, to the unpaved parking area on your LEFT, just before the intersection with Intervale Way.

From Keene Valley and points south: Head north on NY-73 West toward Keene. Drive 4.9 miles. Make a slight LEFT to stay on NY-73 West. Drive 12.2 miles. Turn RIGHT onto River Road.  Drive one mile on River Road, to the unpaved parking area on your LEFT, just before the intersection with Intervale Way.
