Getting There: Directions to the Adirondack Interpretive Center
From downtown Lake Placid (65 miles): Head south on Main Street. Turn RIGHT onto S Main St/Sentinel Road just before the Sunoco Gas Station. Drive 0.6 miles. Continue onto NY-73 E/Cascade Road. Drive 13.6 miles toward Keene. In Keene make a slight RIGHT onto NY-73 E/NY-9N South. Drive for 1.9 miles. Continue straight onto NY-73 East. Drive 11.5 miles. Merge onto U.S. 9 South. Drive 2.1 miles. Turn RIGHT to merge onto I-87 South. Drive 10.0 miles. Take exit 29 toward Newcomb/North Hudson. Drive 0.1 miles. Turn LEFT onto Blue Ridge Road. Drive 18.3 miles. Make a slight LEFT to stay on Blue Ridge Road. Drive 0.3 miles. Turn RIGHT onto NY-28N West. Drive 6.3 miles. The entrance to the Adirondack Interpretive Center will be on your RIGHT.
From Saranac Lake and points northwest (55 miles): Head south on Main Street toward River Street. Turn RIGHT onto NY-3 West. Drive 19.6 miles. Turn LEFT onto Hosley Avenue. Drive 0.5 miles. Continue straight onto Stetson Road; drive 1 mile. Turn LEFT onto NY-30 South. Drive 21.5 miles to Long Lake. Turn LEFT onto NY-28N East. Drive 12.6 miles. The entrance to the Adirondack Interpretive Center will be on your LEFT.
From Keene Valley (45.5 miles): Head south on NY-73 E toward Market Street. Drive 8.4 miles. Merge onto U.S. 9 South. Drive 2.1 miles. Turn RIGHT to merge onto I-87 South. Drive 10.0 miles. Take exit 29 toward Newcomb/North Hudson. Drive 0.1 miles. Turn LEFT onto Blue Ridge Road. Drive 18.3 miles. Make a slight LEFT to stay on Blue Ridge Road. Drive 0.3 miles. Turn RIGHT onto NY-28N West. Drive 6.3 miles. The entrance to the Adirondack Interpretive Center will be on your RIGHT.
From Albany, New York and points south: Take I-87 N toward Saratoga Springs/Glens Falls. Drive 71.9 miles. Take exit 26 toward Pottersville/Minerva/US-9. Drive 0.2 miles. Turn LEFT onto Valley Farm Road. Drive 0.4 miles. Turn RIGHT onto U.S. 9 North. Drive 0.2 miles. Make a slight LEFT onto Olmstedville Road. Drive 5.0 miles. Continue onto County Highway 29. Drive 0.4 miles. Turn RIGHT onto A P Morse Highway. Drive 2.9 miles. In Minerva, just past the town hall, turn RIGHT onto NY-28N West. Drive 20.1 miles. The entrance to the Adirondack Interpretive Center will be on your RIGHT.
