Getting There: Directions to the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge & Rehabilitation Center

From downtown Lake Placid: Head south on Main Street. Keep straight at the light by the Sunoco Gas Station. Drive 9.9 miles on Route 86 (Wilmington Road). Bear RIGHT on Fox Farm Road (County Route 63). Turn LEFT at Springfield Road (County Route 83). Drive 1 mile to 977 Springfield Road on your LEFT. The entrance to the Center is just past Otter Chalet Way. Look for a small green and white sign for the Wildlife Center and a larger brown and yellow sign for the Public Fishing Stream on the West Branch of the Ausable River. The entrance is a dirt road, leading to an unpaved parking lot near the interpretive center.

From Saranac Lake and points northwest: From the outskirts of Saranac Lake, take the Sara-Placid Road (NY-86 E) toward Lake Placid. Drive 8.7 miles. Turn LEFT on Victor Herbert Road. Turn RIGHT onto Harbor Lane. Turn LEFT onto Mirror Lake Drive. Turn LEFT onto Northwood Road. Turn LEFT onto Route 86 (Wilmington Road). Bear RIGHT on Fox Farm Road (County Route 63). From Keene Valley and points southeast: Head north on Route 73. Drive 4.9 miles to Keene, New York.  Bear RIGHT onto New York 9N.  Drive 6.0 miles. In Upper Jay, turn LEFT onto Springfield Road. Drive 4.6 miles to 977 Springfield Road on your LEFT. The entrance to the Center is just past Otter Chalet Way. Look for a small green and white sign for the Wildlife Center and a larger brown and yellow sign for the Public Fishing Stream on the West Branch of the Ausable River.
